About

The person behind Harbour Peak.

Boutique means you work directly with the founder — and with the team he has gathered over his career: the best procurement category managers he has worked with, BESS and IT specialists, world-class component suppliers, and a network that reaches chairman level at the major suppliers in renewables. This is the background behind the advice.

The story

From solar tenders to gigawatt portfolios, across two continents.

Fubin Lu founded Harbour Peak Energy Advisory on the back of more than fifteen years leading global sourcing and supply chain organisations across renewable energy, healthcare, retail and industry. He was Chief Procurement Officer and Head of China Affairs at GoldenPeaks Capital, one of Europe's largest solar IPP asset owners, installing over 1 GW of solar and battery storage annually across Eastern Europe.

His career in energy began at Essent, where an intensive procurement traineeship led to running solar photovoltaic tenders across the entire RWE Group — from the Benelux and Germany to Poland, Hungary and Turkey. It was an early lesson in what has defined his work since: in energy, the supply chain is not a support function. It decides whether projects get built.

The years that followed added breadth and scale: leading the European motorisation category at Hunter Douglas from Rotterdam, Shanghai and Shenzhen; building strategic sourcing at private-equity portfolio companies through periods of rapid growth; managing €150M+ of spend across five countries at Curaeos; and serving on the group management team at Ecorus, one of the largest one-stop solar providers in the Benelux, with group-level responsibility for procurement, IT, ESG and supply chain.

Running through all of it is the bridge between Europe and China. A native speaker of Dutch and Wenzhounese with professional Mandarin, Fubin has spent his career working directly with Chinese manufacturers, investors and partners — most recently leading the China department at GoldenPeaks Capital. For European energy companies navigating the most important supply corridor of the transition, that fluency — commercial and cultural — is the difference between a contract and a partnership.

Beyond the CV

Rooted in two worlds.

Based in The Hague and equally at home in Shanghai, Fubin works in six languages and has spent his career translating between two business cultures — not just linguistically, but commercially. It shows up in the practical things: knowing how a Chinese manufacturer reads a European contract, and how a European board reads a Chinese partnership. That dual perspective is the quiet advantage behind everything Harbour Peak does.
